Akeneo Connector for Magento 2 is the official connector between the Akeneo PIM and Magento platforms. It is a high performance connector that allows you to easily and rapidly import your product content into your Magento websites. Akeneo Connector for Magento works with both Magento 1 and 2.

How does Akeneo Connector for Magento 2 work
Akeneo Side Component: PIMGento exports all product content stored in Akeneo as CSV files and drops them on your Magento server via SFTP. Magento Side Component: PIMGento processes these CSV files and inserts the content directly into the Magento database. This is what makes the import extremely fast.
